Postgraduate Certs / Diploma and MEd in Adult & Community Education

The Postgraduate Certificate in Theories of Adult and Community Education, which will be offered in Autumn 2010, will be the first in a series of three postgraduate certificates which may be studied either as stand-alone courses or with a view to completing the postgraduate diploma.

The existing and very popular postgraduate diploma / masters in adult and community education which has previously only been offered on the main campus in Maynooth has been re-engineered in a flexible part-time format which allows us to offer this programme in Kilkenny.

On completion of all three certificates, participants will be awarded the postgraduate diploma and, subject to fulfilling the application criteria, may apply to continue to Part II of the MEd in Adult & Community Education if they wish.

Auditing: Subject to capacity, there is potential for those interested to audit particular modules at a reduced fee.  Such participants will not be registered students, they will not be required to complete assessment and no academic credit will accrue.  (This may be an attractive option for those, for example, who already hold the postgraduate diploma or an equivalent qualification, and who wish to update their knowledge base and to engage with their peers in a critical discourse around its application to current issues and challenges in adult and community education.)
